How to transfer your domain to domains.ng

Before transferring your .ng domain name registration from one register to us, some steps must be followed to prepare your domain name for the transfer. You need the following checklist completed before initiating a transfer.

Steps to move your domain registration to another Registrar:

  1. You need to ensure your domain is eligible for a transfer.
    -    The initial registration of the domain name was at least 60 days ago
    -    The domain has been with your current registrar for at least 60 days
    -    The domain name is not on clientHold status with your current provider

  2. Prepare the domain for a transfer.
    -    Unlock the domain by disabling the current registrar lock if applied (clientTransferProhibited)
    -    Obtain a valid EPP Code (authorization key) from your current provider
    -    The domain name is not on hold with your current registrar

  3. Submit a Transfer Request with domains.ng
    -    You will be asked for the domain and its EPP Code
    -    Your transfer order must be completed and paid where an invoice is created to complete the order

When you complete a transfer order – our system will automatically process your request, and we will move the domain name to your domains.ng account once the registry approves the transfer. Usually, it is instant and automatic.
